Reminder that Infantry is $8 per. If we wait till defcon 3 they go to $6 and take one less turn so they'd get built at the same rate but we'd spend less money.

Yeah, I was going to go to Defcon 3 this turn and build them next turn anyways. I may go with Firestarters instead if they seem more practical though.

It looks like improved comms helps identify agents? We might want to consider offering it to China if they don't already have it, since they have the research center.

Current Military plans:
Secure Russian border with Kazakhstan ($4) Secure Albanian and Azerbaijan Border ($4) Secure Albanian and Greece Border ($4) Move 2 infantry in E Russia to W Russia Move 1 infantry from Ukraine into E Russia Move 1 infantry from Belarus into E Russia Equip remaining non air forces with air filters ($15) Steam Arctic Fleet into North Atlantic ($4)
Order Kazakhstan Relief Force to continue to secure border and work with local government in terror control and disease control. May give us a slight bonus to something in addition to us hopefully getting medicine.
Order all military forces on borders to commence light verification checks. Also set up check points into major population areas in country.
That all costs $31 so I don't know if you want to give it all to me. Hopefully you guys can get us money somewhere. We also have the $4 if we want to send out special forces into Spain, but I've heard no more planning in that regard since last night.
Next turn: W Russia secures borders with China and Mongolia and we hopefully start building Firedudes.

Oh and as a reminder the president has to order the border closed at places I'm securing. Securing them with troops just makes the closed border better. We could not close the border and try to just rely on our light method for people crossing I guess.

Hm. We should probably do something about that.
Also: how do we make our alliance with China official?

Wait, how do I see other county's troop movements and size? I missed that as well.
Should I make an announcement about troops in Romania securing the border and would welcome American troop assistance?

If there IS US forces in Romania I will contact their general and see about helping each other secure the borders. Maybe we can split the costs.

Also Timspork, don't trust the Americans. They have been antagonistic to us since the start.

I agree but if we make a statement about trying to work peacefully with UIS forces to secure that part of europe and they turn on us it will the the world looking at them and not us.

Yeah, I agree. We should announce we're aware of them and that we'd welcome their assistance in securing the area, since the infection has been spreading faster in the middle east than anywhere else in the world and we expect it to reach Romanian borders any day now.

Let's talk strategy.
Munkus, I'd like to try distributing our first signs tech to all of our allies and occupied countries. No idea if it will work, but it's worth a try if it will give us a better idea where the infection is. As a diplomat, I think this is something you control.
We also want to try to get the US to fund antivirals for Kazakhstan. You want to get on that or should I? The old US president made a post in the thread that we should contact the US diplomat if we want humanitarian relief. If not I'll probably pay for them; I'm hoping we can burn out the infection soonish and start working on a great wall to hold the infection at bay.
I'm raising Defcon to 3. I'll put a post in the thread about it so we don't alarm anyone, but I expect pretty much everyone will. Next turn we should have the tech for firestarters, I think, so I'll weigh the costs and probably plan on building some number of firestarters or infantry.
Tim, I think Azerbaijan and Georgia are treated as one region in this game; we should only need to seal the border between East Russia (which is apparently west of West Russia, because the world is weird) and the combined region is Azerbaijan/Georgia. The rest of the military plans look good; I should be able to find most of those funds. Any word on what we're committed for with Operation Santiago?
I unfortunately wont be around for close of day tomorrow, though I should be available in the morning and a few hours after close.
