Terror and Infection update: Terror has lowered by 1, Russians react very well to the speech. $3 was spent on relief to Kazakhstan, which has helped calm things down there. Infection has hit it though - Be warned.
Funding update: Your total income has reduced by 3 due to sanctions. $3 goes to the bank this turn for a total reserves of 17
Agent Update: No agents detected in Russia
Military Update: Your units are equipped and moved. Ukrainian rebels have gone to ground, no battle. The Ukranian/Poland border becomes a no mans land as Germans fortify the other side.
Diplomacy Update: I didn't see any diplomacy orders - This accurate?

I left it up to Munkus if he wanted to do anything, and he was active in negotiating with SADPACT. If he didn't specify anything, that's fine with me.

Yes. Dig in and we'll close the borders. We'll also get antivirals for Kazakhstan, though I'm tempted to try to get the US to pay for them since they offered humanitarian aid to deal with the chaos of the sanction.

Yes ask the USA for help paying for it! I'll have the infantry dig in and close the borders and get that one tank unit in E Russia for sure Air Filters.

I'll have the militia establish a border detail on the Kaz side of the Russian border as well. Maybe a double border blocking will help.

Ok, the update is up, and I think "Operation hope something distracts everyone from Ukraine" has succeeded beyond all our dreams.

Yeah. Get antivirals from USA. I'll dig in everywhere we can.

Ugh I should have had the E Russia units start digging in last turn.

To be fair, so should I. I just figured we'd have more time.

Does anyone find it suspicious that China was reported infected, then suddenly not?

Let's plan on fortifying our borders with China anyways. Probably Mongolia too, to be safe.
In light of the latest news, we might want to start expansion of our military. The thread reports there's tech for a new anti-plague unit, firestarters; we definitely want to head that way. Jay, consider this an executive order to grab Environmental Factors. Then next turn we can take advantage of the agreement to research firestarters at a discount.
We'll leave the missiles for now. The other nations broke them, if they want to nuke Spain they can use their own missiles.
So, how does this sounds for priorities:
1) Close and fortify borders: First Kazakhstan, then I think we should do this for any independent nations, since it's now clear they don't report infections until too late. And absolutely with any aligned nation that reports infection. Tim, I leave this in your capable hands. China and Mongolia are a lesser priority, but if you can get the units in place to do so it would be good. I'm not sure double fortifying the border is worthwhile; I'd get confirmation before you do it.
2) Antivirals for Kazakhstan (and anywhere else that gets infected). I hope to get the US to pay for them, but we will if necessary.
3) Research. We need firestarters, and we need answers. I think any money not needed for military security or antivirals should be prioritized for research. Go hog wild with the research agreements, Jay.
4) The international scene. I'm optimistic we can get the ballot measure to pass and the sanctions ended, but we wont pay bribes. We're the injured party here. Hopefully with this news people will be more willing to cooperate. If anyone asks about Ukraine, we have far higher priorities than paying money to move our tanks around right now.
5) Our allies. I think it's about time to get our allies to help out. Munkus, I'd like your input on asking them to provide funds or military units to help provide security during this time of crisis.
Also, I'll be busy much of tomorrow, but as a reminder the game doesn't update on Saturdays so we have nearly 48 hours until the next turn.

Planning for Operation Santiago is happening. I will volunteer some advisers as a show of good will. I will move some units into western Russia. Do I have permission to remove some more troops from Belarus, Ukraine, and Romania? We might need them elsewhere.
